It was from here that Buddhism spread to the eastern regions through the northern valleys of Karakorum, Himalaya and Hindukush. Buddhism is just one aspect of Gandhara. One can find lively impressions of the Romans, Greeks, Huns, and Iranians. While Alexander the Great came here from the west, Famous Chinese pilgrim Xuan Zang came from the east. The vivid heritage of its golden period is preserved not just in the form of ancient artifacts and monuments it can also be observed in the daily life of its people. Gandhara Tour itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Islamabad Airport ,Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition ,Nepal airport representative will pick and transfer to hotel . Gandhara tour briefing with officially arrangements .overnight at hotel
Day 02: Drive to Peshawar (167Km). After 30 minutes of drive we reach the ancient city of Taxila. The Archaeological Site of Taxila is from 600B.C to 500A.D.
Day 03: Half day excursion to Khyber Pass. Khyber Pass is situated in Sulaiman Hills, which form the western barriers of Pakistan. The Khyber Pass has been a silent witness of countless events..
Day 04: Drive to Swat (150Km). En route visit Takht-E-Bahi situated a top 160meters high hill are the remains of Buddhist Monatery, about 80km from Peshawar. Takht-E-Bahi has been declared as the world heritage side by UNESCO. After continue drive to Swat, overnight on hotel.
Day 05: Sightseeing in Swat includes Swat Museum, Buddh Cara and Swat Bazaar, overnight in hotel.
Day 06: Drive to Besham (200Km) over Shangla Pass, overnight in hotel.
Day 07: Drive to Gilgit (345Km) over eight wonder of the world The Karakoram Highway along mighty Indus River.
Day 08: Half day excursion to Naltar Valley by Jeep and afternoon visit Rock Carving Buddha and the Gilgit Bazzar, overnight in hotel.
Day 09: Drive to Hunza (100Km). Sight seen all along the route is surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the world and dominated by the Rakaposhi Peak (7788meters). Hunza is itself known for longevity of its residents. Evening visit 600 years old Baltit Fort, overnight in hotel.
Day 10: Early Morning visit to Duikar for a sun rise and a Bird eye view of Hunza, half day excursion to Hopper Glacier, evening visit Karimabad Bazaar, overnight in hotel.
Day 11: Day excursion to Khunjarab Pass situated at the height of 4593 meters and return drive to Gulmit, overnight on hotel
Day 12: Drive to Skardu (250Km). Skardu is a capital od Baltistan which is commonly known as a Little Tibet and the Gate way of Karakoram mountain and glaciers, overnight in hotel.
Day 13: Half day excursion to Shigar valley and afternoon visit Satpara Lake and bazaar, overnight in hotel.
Day 14: Full day excursion to Khaplu Valley. Drive back to Skardu, overnight in hotel.
Day 15: Drive to Chilas (175Km), overnight in hotel.
Day 16: Drive to Islamabad (474Km), overnight in hotel
Day 17: Rest day in Islamabad. Evening visit old Rawalpindi.
Day 18: Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition ,Nepal airport representative will transfer to airport for onward journey
